I Never Had

by

Alden I. Bula

Love and abundance together was never mine

Love and perseverance together I can claim

Love and assurance was my claim to fame

Love and nuisance always were mine

I dreamt of a family that should be mine

I long for someone to claim what is mine

I desire something but I was lame

Because, nothing that is inside me can be tamed

I did not dread the thought I can be claimed

But I fear the idea that I would be blamed

Someone I thought can be mine

At the end of the day, it was just a fine line

Dividing  desire of mine confused me in between lane

I tried many things to ensure I will not go insane

But, insanity had different aims and I was in vain

That is why all my life, I thought I have nothing to gain.
