Twenty years after this album was released, the record still sounds new not dated.  How is this so?  The song “Better Make It Better” explains everything.  While it is not a great song and more of the usual Swing Out Sister tune, the stripped down approach and basically rawer in terms of musical treatment makes the whole album not too dated.  For example, their It’s Better To Travel Album still sound very eighties due to lots of synthesizers used. The same can be said with Get In Touch With Yourself record where it is more like a pop record than a jazz album.

Thus, when they sing “Don’t Let Yourself Down” they have no intention of doing so to their listeners most of the songs in here are pleasant to your ears and…
