The 10 best albums of 2015 (so far)

The best so far daw yet I only listened to three at this time. Hmmmm, more catch up pa nga.

We’re about at the midway point of 2015, so why not look back at the first half of the year in music? Here are 10 of my favorite albums of the past six months.

10. Jamie xx – In Colour

Jamie xx is the producing mind behind the sultry band the xx, and on his new LP, he manages to gather all of his influences — dubstep, house, reggaeton, island, rap — and seamlessly blend them together into a cohesive whole.

Opening track “Gosh” starts with a hard-hitting beat, repetitive and building, a man hollering “oh my gosh” over and over, until a haunting synth comes over the track and brings the song home. The album is a collage of different sounds and influences, but Jamie xx is smart enough to pull the thing off.

Best song: “Gosh”
