The album started like a movie soundtrack as you can hear the sound of horses strutting, a marching drum, and sounds of foot marching soldiers.  According to an interview, Ashanti was inspired with the movie “Braveheart” when she made this album.  Perhaps it is her way of telling people the inequality between her record label before this album and her as a talent of a major record label.  The first song “Braveheart” set the tone and context of this album.

It is a confessional album as she talked about experiences like being abused, betrayal, empowerment, finding true self, and other personal experiences.  I personally believe that this album is comparable with that of Janet Jackson’s RHYTHM NATION in terms of vibe, sound, and…
